Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position on signal processing for millimeter wave enabled massive MIMO systems, with a particular focus on developing/implementing robust synchronization and channel estimation schemes for massive MIMO system.
In particular, the Postdoctoral Research Assistant will be expected to perform research on optimal array segmentation methods for synchronization and array signal processing based channel estimation schemes to reduce pilot contamination in massive MIMO. He or she will be expected to collaborate with research partners at the Loughborough University (LU) and University College of London (UCL) with the aim of integrating various work packages, developing 4G or 5G simulation reference model using Matlab and evaluating and comparing the performance of the proposed solutions against the best performing existing approaches.
The ideal candidate must have a PhD degree or be about to obtain a PhD degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Electric/Electronic Engineering also have experience in conducting research wireless communication, and research experience in communications and or signal processing. Familiarity with the current literature and methods in Massive MIMO wireless networks would be an advantage. Candidates should have experience of publishing research findings in international journals and conference proceedings. Experience in MATLAB programming is also essential.
This post is part of the EPSRC project “Massive MIMO Wireless Networks: Theory and Methods”, based in the Communication Systems Research (CSR) Group at Queen Mary University of London. Communication Systems Research (CSR) Group is part School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). Details about the School can be found at http://www.eecs.qmul.ac.uk
