We are seeking to appoint a Biostatistician to join an integrated, multidisciplinary research team of Scientists and Clinicians, led by Professor Cos Pitzalis, focused on Inflammation and Rheumatology research at the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI) and partner institutions on our picturesque Charterhouse Square campus. The WHRI Centre funds this post for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology (EMR), and the appointed candidate will forge links with statisticians the Barts Clinical Trials Unit, Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine (

The successful candidate will provide leadership on the statistical design and analysis of clinical trials within the EMR, working closely with the WHRI Bioinformatics team to construct a statistical framework for the discovery of biomarkers for patient stratification from diverse genomic and clinical data. The position would particularly suit an ambitious early career researcher with an interest in the application of new biostatistical approaches to genomic medicine in clinical trials.

The appointment will be for 2 years in the first instance. The starting salary will be £32,956 - £43,152 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, depending on experience. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
