Overview:

This is an exciting permanent role which will support the administration and development of Volunteering, Student Media, Raise and Give (RAG) and the Student Engagement Department at Queen Mary, University of London Students’ Union (QMSU). The role will support the Volunteering Coordinator and Student Activities Coordinator with the running of the departments and spend 0.2FTE on either of the Students’ Union Receptions.

The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for improving the student experience and have a positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have the ability to use their own initiative, be flexible when faced with a variety of impromptu tasks, and have experience of working with student groups.

QMSU represents and supports over 16,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London. The growth and development of community volunteering and fundraising is embedded in the Queen Mary Students’ Union strategic plan. We have 10 active volunteering Groups, 2 RAG groups that continuously raise over £30,000 each year and 7 Student Media Outlets who produce content. In addition many of our 200+ student group’s volunteer in the community fundraise and produce media content.

The Student Engagement Administrator will support all aspects of running Volunteering, Student Media and RAG, including; general administration, events, training, record management and coordination of student volunteers as well as other aspects of student engagement. The post holder will also spend 0.2FTE working on either of the Students’ Union receptions.

Applicants should have a good understanding of the needs of students, have excellent organisational skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people.  You should have experience of receiving and responding appropriately to customer enquiries and must be organised, able to prioritise a varied workload and to meet deadlines. Applicants must be computer literate and have excellent communication skills.

The post is a permanent position. Starting salary will be £21,271 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, plus university closure days, pension scheme, free gym membership and an interest free TFL season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
