The Law Department at Queen Mary, based within the School of Law, covers the full spectrum of legal studies, and are looking to recruit a Widening Participation Administrator. The Department is currently developing and expanding its work in the area of widening participation and require an Administrator who can support these activities.
In addition, there are opportunities available specifically for students who are considered to fall within the widening participation category once they are enrolled with the Department and the post holder will be expected to support specific activities in this area. The key areas are Department bursaries and scholarships, Sutton Trust Pathways to Law administration, public engagement and monitoring of intern opportunities.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent professional qualification or experience) and have substantial experience in developing and organising events and activities. Experience of monitoring and managing budgets, working in a Higher Education environment and working with sensitive, confidential information are also essential. As a highly organised individual, you will have the ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines, together with being able to use your own initiative under minimal supervision.
Flexibility will be required in terms of working hours, in order to ensure the smooth running of events and activities.
This is a full time (1.0fte) which will run until the end of the maternity leave (expected June 2018). Starting salary will be in the range £32,956-£38,709 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Candidates will be subject to enhanced clearance by the Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS).
