The School of Mathematical Science has an exceptionally strong research presence across the spectrum of areas within Pure and Applied Mathematics, and is currently organised into seven research groups, namely: Algebra, Combinatorics, Complex Systems and Networks, Dynamical Systems and Statistical Physics, Geometry and Analysis and Probability and Applications. The School also has large and popular undergraduate and graduate programmes.
About the role
The Probability Group at QMUL announces three postdoctoral positions in mathematical physics and spectral theory of disordered systems.
The postholders will work with Prof. Khoruzhenko, Prof. Sodin and other members of the group, and conduct rigorous research in the spectral theory of random operators and random matrices, with possible connections to adjacent fields such as statistical mechanics, asymptotic representation theory, probability and dynamical systems.

Pay & Benefits
Three positions are available of varying length: two 2-year positions, and one 3-year position. Starting salary will be in the range of £32,956 - £38,709 inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, childcare vouchers scheme, defined benefit pension scheme and interest free season ticket loan. Start dates will be negotiated with the successful candidates.
