Queen Mary University of London is the fourth largest College of the University of London and has gained a reputation for the high-quality of its academic teaching and research. Its Archives and Special Collections hold a wealth of fascinating institutional records and personal archives, as well as rare books and prints, which document its rich history.

The Archives Officer will assist with the provision of an efficient and effective service, supervising users, answering enquiries, carrying out reprographics requests, contributing to outreach activities, and monitoring the archival and special collections storage environments. The postholder will also carry out project work, including arranging and cataloguing specific collections in accordance with archival and internal standards. 

This role would be ideally suited to an individual who is currently undertaking a distance-learning MA in Archives and Records Management, or has recently gained the relevant Masters qualification.

The post is permanent and full time (35 hours per week).  Starting salary will be in the range of £26,717 - £32,956 per annum (Grade 3, inclusive of London Allowance). Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
