This post sits within the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE), Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD). The SMD is a leading medical and dental school that offers international levels of excellence in research and teaching as well as providing clinical services for a population of unrivalled ethnic diversity in east London and the wider Thames Gateway. IHSE is seeking to appoint an experienced Manager with in-depth knowledge of Research and/or Quality, to support the development and implementation of IHSE’s Quality and Research agendas. This role is of significant importance and will be instrumental in supporting the Institute as it moves forward with its strategy to grow medical education research and to continue to maintain the high quality programmes delivered by the SMD including the MBBS programme placed number one in London for both Medicine and Dentistry and, second in Medicine from amongst all UK Universities.

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic individual, who can become an integral part of the senior management team for professional staff. This is a diverse and demanding role that requires significant strategic awareness, and excellent time and project management skills. The successful candidate will be a primary contributor to the Institute business planning processes, working closely with academic and professional staff across IHSE, SMD and QMUL contributing to strategic and operational delivery. We are looking for a person with initiative who can communicate well, is well organised, can work well under pressure and who will be able to balance the conflicting strategic and operational demands of the role.

The successful applicant must be educated to degree level, with experience of NHS or Higher Education in a similar role essential.

This is a full-time permanent post, based on the Whitechapel Campus. Starting salary will be in the range £45,577- £50,881 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave per annum and a defined salary pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
