Information Systems and Data Management Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant to join our Information Systems and Data Management team in supporting a growing portfolio of clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with a number of trial teams working on a variety of clinical trials in important priority areas for the NHS. These include trials exploring ways of delivering primary care, trials focusing on women's health and mental health, and trials related to bowel conditions and surgery.
The post will focus on managing helpdesk enquiries, administrative support and user management; in addition to assisting the team with other database development or data management activities. You will be educated to A-level or above, with excellent IT skills including Excel and Word. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills are also essential. Experience of providing administration support ideally in a clinical research setting, as well as knowledge and understanding of data protection and information governance are also required.
The Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU) is a fully registered UKCRC trials unit based within a large and vibrant Centre for Primary Care and Public Health and linked with the Centre for Psychiatry, where staff engage in a wide range of applied health research, providing a stimulating work environment. The PCTU leads and supports clinical trials in which the primary question of interest relates to intervention effectiveness: whether an intervention works under real-life conditions. It also carries out and supports pilot studies for these trials. The unit focuses particularly on trials of complex interventions. http://www.qmul.ac.uk/pctu.
The post is full time, fixed term appointment for 24 months, starting as soon as possible. Starting salary will be in the range £26,717 - £32,956 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
