CENTRE ADMINISTRATOR/PA TO THE CENTRE LEAD (Maternity cover)
Applications are sought for a Centre Administrator/PA to the Centre Lead to provide administrative, budgetary and secretarial support to the Centre Lead, Deputy Centre Lead, Laboratory Manager and other assigned members of staff in their execution of Centre-related tasks, and assisting in the planning and organisation of the Centre’s activities. The post will be based in the Centre for Tumour Biology, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics, and educated to A level. Significant secretarial/ administrative experience in a busy executive setting, as well as the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines, are essential. Experience of HR and recruitment procedures, and financial and other record keeping would be an advantage. A proven ability to communicate well and work within a team are also essential.
The appointment is to provide cover while the substantive postholder is on maternity leave. It will therefore be fixed-term, with an anticipated end date to the appointment of 31 August 2018. Should the post-holder on maternity leave exercise her right to return to work earlier, then this appointment will be terminated, subject to a notice period of one month. The post is full time and is a Grade 4 appointment, salary will be in the range £32,405 - £38,062 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
