The School of Business and Management (SBM) seeks to recruit an outstanding educator to a lectureship in marketing. This is a Teaching and Scholarship focused position, which offers an exceptional opportunity for a passionate teacher to shape student education and experience within our rapidly growing and distinctive management school. Applicants for the lectureship will be at least at post-doctoral level.

School of Business and Management
The School has been undergoing a period of rapid growth, doubling our number of academic staff over the last five years. We presently have around 80 academic staff, with more appointments in process. We have over 900 undergraduate Business Studies students plus approximately 600 students taking business in combination with other degree subjects within QMUL. At the post-graduate level we have around 500 MSc students and a well-established doctoral programme of around 60 doctoral students.
We are a distinctive School that takes a humanities and social science led approach to our scholarship. We are a non-departmentalised school within QMUL’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), with its traditional strengths as a site of critical thinking in the humanities, law, history, geography and politics.
SBM recently re-committed to our core purpose, that is, to promote social justice, sustainability and good governance in the management of private, public and voluntary organisations through our research and education. We organise our activities thematically, cross-cutting traditional divisions between disciplinary departments.
Lecturer in Marketing (Teaching & Scholarship)
Candidates will be expected to have a completed doctorate (or have a doctorate under examination) by September 2017 and be able to demonstrate the capacity for excellent teaching in a UK university context. We will consider applications from any field of marketing but are particularly interested in the areas of digital marketing, e-marketing, new media, business-to-business marketing, service marketing, strategic marketing, and marketing psychology. All applicants should be able to demonstrate the capacity to teach and supervise effectively across our main undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The School is strongly committed to the development of all its staff and we will ensure that the successful candidate has the opportunity to develop their teaching and administrative skills. Teaching and scholarship appointments are normally expected to undertake an administrative role but you will be given appropriate reductions in teaching to allow you the time to carry out any role.
Colleagues on Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) contracts have access to a full range of professional development support, including an annual allowance to support their scholarship or pedagogical activities. Queen Mary recently revised the college’s promotion guidelines to provide comprehensive and clear promotion routes for T&S staff up to and including the academic rank of professor.

Starting salary will be in the range £40,182 - £50,030 per annum inclusive of London Allowance and include 30 days annual leave, USS pension scheme membership, and interest-free travel season ticket loan.
