Tissue Bank Acquisition Officer
Applications are sought for a Tissue Bank Acquisition Officer to support BCI portfolio of tissue banks, with comprehensive, efficient and effective tissue acquisition and distribution. The post will be based in the Director’s Office, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include GCSE or equivalent (including English and Mathematics, grade A-C) and previous laboratory experience including tissue handling. Experience in communicating with patients or other lay audience and using databases is desirable. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain accurate and detailed records are also essential.
The post is part time (14 hours per week) for one year. Starting salary will be in the range £20,915 - £25,600 (pro rata) per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave pro rata, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
