About the Role
Applications are invited for a Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) in Global Public Health within the Institute of Population Health Sciences, Queen Mary University of London, home to 50 academic employees. The Institute is one of seven Institutes in the School of Medicine and Dentistry. Your role will be to teach on several modules in our BSc and MScs in Global Public Health (Social Determinants of Health, Disease Management: Policy and Practice, Epidemiology and statistics and Research methods). You will also supervise student dissertations. In addition, you will contribute to the development of the Masters programmes and help increase recruitment from students internationally (preferably with a particular focus on the Middle East and Gulf regions).
The successful candidate will be enabled to develop their pedagogical skills and be encouraged to design, develop and implement their own teaching. Furthermore, they will work as part of a critical multi-disciplinary team, and will be actively supported in their professional development.
We are looking for applicants with relevant experience, interest and expertise in global public health who can teach in areas including:
- Social Determinants of Health
- Disease Management: Policy and Practice
- Epidemiology and statistics
- Research methods
The post will be located within the Unit for Global Public Health, situated in the Centre for Public Health and Policy which delivers a suite of programmes in the field of Global Health with over 250 students.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 2 years. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £42,433 - £44,807 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
