This is an exciting role which will take the lead in the development and administration of the Students’ Union’s community volunteering service, oversee student-led charity fundraising, and support the activity of student-led groups.
The successful candidate will have a passion for improving the student experience and have a positive attitude and commitment to working with students. The successful candidate will have the ability to use their own initiative and experience of coordinating volunteers or volunteering projects.
The Students’ Union represents and supports over 23,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary University of London. Our mission is ‘Together, we improve students’ lives’. We enable students to volunteering in the community via 3 main streams- one-off volunteering opportunities, placements with partner charities and through our student-led volunteering groups who run projects out in the local community. The post-holder will lead in all aspects of running and increasing the profile of the volunteering service. They will also oversee our RAG (Raise and Give) activity, supporting student-led groups and elected officers to fundraise for charity.
To post holder will also work in collaboration with colleagues in the Student Engagement Team to support student groups, including providing operational and administrative support to societies and student media outlets, and ensuring they are active and adhering to all regulations and policies.
Applicants should have a good understanding of the needs of students, have excellent organisational and administration skills, the ability to manage a varied workload.
The post is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment. Starting salary will be £27,742 per annum inclusive of London Allowance and raises one point annually as set out in the Queen Mary Pay and Grading Structure.
