About the Role

This exciting opportunity, ideally suited for an experienced marketing professional, has responsibility for attainment of postgraduate taught (PGT) student enrolment targets and the strategic diversification of, and expansion into, postgraduate modes of educational provision (e.g., exec ed and distance learning). 

The post holder will work as part of the Marketing and Communications Directorate, and maintain strong links with the School of Law’s administrative team, being mutually supportive and covering duties as necessary during colleagues’ absences and at times of additional pressure, as required. The role is part of a broader team of marketing and communications colleagues within the School of Law. The School’s postgraduate provision is managed through the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS).

About You

The successful candidate will have technical expertise in student recruitment marketing (or equivalent) including, but not limited to, campaign management, CRM and email communications planning and management, event management, budget management, evaluation and reporting on impact.

They will also have excellent stakeholder management skills and be a proactive and effective communicator, who is as comfortable taking the initiative as they are working collaboratively as part of a team.

They will have experience in business development and how this can strategically support growth.

 

The post holder will work as part of the Marketing and Communications Directorate, promoting the School’s postgraduate programme offering, exploring opportunities to expand (including via Executive Education) and further raising our profile and reputation through work with internal and external stakeholders, including the law profession, policy makers and influencers that are key to our offer. The post holder will have a strong relationship with relevant School and Department colleagues.

About the Department

The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) is one of two departments that make up the School of Law (SOL), part of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences (HSS). Established in 1980, this Centre has become one of the world’s leading academic institutions for the study of commercial law.  The primary objectives of the Centre are to conduct scholarly research of international excellence, to contribute to the shaping of public and commercial policy, and to provide teaching of the highest quality at post-graduate level.  The Department covers the whole spectrum of commercial law, including arbitration, banking and finance, intellectual property, international trade, media and communications, shipping, insurance, regulation, ethics, and tax, and around 900 students from some 80 countries study for masters and doctorate degrees.

The Centre has a team of approximately 40 Professional Service staff to support teaching and research priorities, including a team of twelve Programme Office staff who support the postgraduate taught programmes offered by the Centre in London, Paris, Singapore and elsewhere. Many Professional Service staff in the Centre work across both departments to support School of Law activity.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London, with some time spent at the Lincoln’s Inn Fields Campus where the Department is based. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an immediate start date. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,084 - £44,807 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
