This is an exciting and fast-paced permanent role in the Students’ Union supporting with the facilitation of student groups and extra-curricular activities within the Student Engagement department.
The Students’ Union represents and supports over 23,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London. The Student Engagement department supports over 300 student-led groups (such as societies, student media outlets and volunteering groups) and other extra-curricular activities for students (such as charity fundraising and community volunteering). The department also runs employability and sustainability initiatives for students.
The Student Engagement Administrator will be the first point of contact for department queries and will provide operational and administrative support across the department’s activities.
Applicants should have a passion and enthusiasm for improving the student experience, have a positive attitude and commitment to improving the inclusivity of our activities and providing an excellent service. The successful candidate will have the ability to use their own initiative and be flexible when faced with a variety of impromptu tasks. Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills, have experience in administration, and have the ability to work with a wide range of people from all different backgrounds.
The post is a full time, permanent position. Starting salary will be £22,212 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance and raises 1 point annually as set out in the QM Pay and Grading Structure. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, plus university closure days, defined benefit pension scheme, free gym membership and an interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
