About the Role
Applications are sought to provide technical support for the Flow Cytometry Service in the Barts CR-UK Centre/WHRI. Being mutually supportive and covering duties as necessary during colleagues’ absences and at times of additional pressure. The post-holder will be expected to be responsible for contributing to the operation and maintenance of flow cytometry equipment and for the analysis and sorting of samples by flow cytometry/FACS.
The postholder must have a BSc or equivalent in a biological or related science. Essential requirements for this post include experience in the operation of flow cytometers, as well as experience in other biochemical techniques and working in a biomedical research laboratory. Knowledge in the field of flow cytometry and proteomics or metabolomics techniques. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.
The post is a full time, fixed term position for two years. Starting salary will be in the Grade 3 range (£27,742-£34,220) per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme, an interest-free season ticket loan and family-friendly working.
