About the Role

Applications are sought for an outstanding individual to be appointed as NMR Laboratory Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Department of Chemistry’s NMR service including day to day management, maintenance and planning, as well as training and supervision of users. They will provide exemplary support for research and teaching through the provision of technical expertise, training and troubleshooting to all users of the NMR laboratory.

About You

You will have a PhD in NMR spectroscopy or equivalent postgraduate experience, with extensive experience in NMR laboratory management, including operation, routine maintenance, cryogen refilling, calibration, shimming, probe changing and setting up of standard and non-standard parameters as well as in analysis of NMR data. You will also have a good understanding of health and safety requirements relevant to an NMR laboratory and possess excellent abilities to contribute to training, teaching and research activities.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of September 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,655 - £45,479 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
