Strategy Delivery Office
Director of Strategy Delivery
Queen Mary University has a proud and distinctive history dating back to 1785 and beyond. Our founding institutions are the London Hospital Medical College, St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, Westfield College and Queen Mary College. All four institutions were established to help and provide ‘hope and opportunity’ for underprivileged members of the local community.
Today, Queen Mary is a global university which works across the humanities, social sciences, medicine and dentistry, and science and engineering. We have five London campuses in Mile End, Whitechapel, Charterhouse Square, West Smithfield and Lincoln’s Inn Fields. On the international stage we operate on sites across Europe and Asia.
We are a leading Russell Group university whose ongoing commitment to social justice distinguishes us from many of our counterparts. With over 27,000 students representing more than 160 nationalities and a distinctive undergraduate profile, we are leading the way in inclusivity.
The University has published its 2030 Strategy and has a number of Enabling Plans that define the key projects to ensure that the strategy is delivered. The Strategy Delivery Office (SDO) was created to lead the delivery of these projects – and thereby Strategy 2030 - within strictly defined time, cost and quality criteria
The Director is responsible, on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Team, for overseeing the delivery of the University 2030 Strategy (www.qmul.ac.uk/strategy-2030). This is a key leadership role which requires effective co-ordination of the associated strategic programmes of work and management, the interdependencies between projects, and of any major risks and issues arising. It also includes the co-ordination of the new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits.
This is a full time, permanent post with a competitive salary.
We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.
We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic groups as these groups are underrepresented at this level at Queen Mary.
Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
Informal enquiries should be addressed to Karen Kröger at email@example.com
The closing date for all applications is 30 June 2021
Interviews will take place soon after.
