Barts and the London School of Dentistry is part of QMUL, a Russell Group University and is acknowledged as one of the leading providers of dental undergraduate training in the UK. Clinical teaching is provided at the Royal London Dental Hospital at Whitechapel. This new facility, opened in 2014 offers state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging facilities with 8 digital intra-oral x-ray rooms, 3 digital panoramic units, 2 digital cephalostat units and 2 cone-beam CT rooms with additional interventional and MRI sessions provided in the main imaging department at the Royal London Hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and imaginative radiographer to join a committed, innovative and expanding team delivering evidence-based teaching and practical training to dental undergraduate and post-graduate students, dental care professionals and radiographers as part of post-graduate and continuing professional development programmes.

The dental hospital provides emergency and elective care and treatment across all dental and maxillo-facial specialties to a diverse population across a wide geographical area. In addition, the dental hospital is an integrated part of the major trauma service provided by the Royal London Hospital. Students gain experience of all specialties and patient groups and imaging is an integral part of both student training and patient care.

Working as part of small radiography teaching team with close collaboration with the Senior Tutor Radiographers and the Senior Lecturer and Lecturers in dental radiology, the post-holder will contribute to the delivery and assessment of Dental Radiography teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as to other professions.

You should hold a recognized professional qualification in Diagnostic Radiography and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You should have extensive experience in dental and maxillo-facial radiography and relevant teaching experience. A Post Graduate Teaching Certificate or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

The post is part time (0.6 FTE), starting as soon as possible. Starting salary will be in the range £36,677 - £43,152 per annum (pro rata) inclusive of London Allowance.
