Our services support students and colleagues and range from email and internet access, to state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, business application software and high performance computing in support of research.

The Desktop and Desktop Apps Officer is part of a multi skilled IT Service Desk team. The Service Desk provides first line and remote 2nd line support to Queen Mary’s diverse student and staff population.

The successful candidate will have a significant level of specialist expertise in the remote support of desktop devices and desktop applications. Expert level Win/Mac skills and knowledge of Linux. A customer focussed attitude and a natural team player, with demonstrable experience in a similar or related role. Applicants must show experience of team and independent working, being a point of escalation, producing process documentation and problem solving a range of technical issues.

The role is full time at 35 hours per week and is a permanent contract. Starting salary will be £32,956 inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave and defined benefit pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
