This is an exciting permanent role in the Students’ Union supporting the delivery of Societies, Employability and other activities within the Student Engagement Department.
QMSU represents and supports over 18,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London. Over 5000 students are a member of at least one of the 250+ societies and over 200 student’s actively participate in the skills recognition programme. In addition, the Student Engagement Department is responsible for Raise and Give (RAG), Volunteering, Student Media, Employability and the two of the Unions buildings and receptions.
The Student Engagement Administrator will be the first point of contact for all queries regarding Societies and Employability and will provide administrative and day to day support for the Societies Coordinator and Employability Coordinator. The successful candidate will also work 0.2 FTE the Students’ Unions reception desks, being a first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring all enquiries are dealt with in a professional and efficient manner and administrating relevant procedures.
The Student Engagement Administrator will support all aspects of running societies and the skills recognition programme. Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people from all different backgrounds. Applicants are expected to have experience in administration, supporting projects and experience of managing a varied workload whilst meeting deadlines.
The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for improving the student experience and have a positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have the ability to use their own initiative, be flexible when faced with a variety of impromptu tasks, and have an understanding of working in a front of house role.
The post is a full time, permanent position. Starting salary will be £21,271 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance and raises 1 point annually as set out in the QM Pay and Grading Structure. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
