This exciting new role will provide support and development focus within Club Sport to improve the student experience, whilst working closely with the Sports Development Manager to continuously improve and expand our offering to the students here at QMUL.
QMSU represents and supports over 20,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London.
The Recreational Sport and Marketing Coordinator will oversee, coordinate and manage the student staff within the Recreational programme, utilising their role within the programme with the aim of bringing new participants into sport and physical activity, and therefore to play a key role in achieving increased levels of participation in sport and physical activity by students and staff, whilst implementing the planned provision of quality sports leadership and coaching development/educational opportunities for the student staff. This role will also ensure that the development, implementation and reconciliation of comprehensive marketing programmes within sport are completed, whilst developing, maintaining and coordinating the advertising opportunities leading to the effective marketing and promotion of all aspects of Sport within the Students’ Union.
This role will assist in looking to gather feedback from the students which will allow the adaption of the sporting programmes to ensure that there is an offering for all where possible.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience or familiarity of working within a sporting and/or student environment, and within a marketing team would be desirable. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
The post is a permanent post within the Students’ Union. Starting salary will be £26,717 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefits pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan and membership of the Health and Fitness Centre.
