The Careers & Enterprise team develops the employability of Queen Mary University of London students and graduates by helping them to find and prepare for work, or to start up their own business.  

QTemps sits within the Careers & Enterprise department and places approximately 300 students into temporary contract work within internal university departments and local businesses every year. The aim of QTemps is to increase the number of QMUL students and graduates gaining quality, local part-time and temporary work; and to offer a low-cost internal temporary recruitment model to University Departments.

The Temp Agency Coordinator will, with the assistance of a Temp Agency Administrator, maintain the breadth and quality of the current service, whilst growing range of opportunities for students. This will involve the proactive negotiation for opportunities of temporary work with internal and external stakeholders, then managing the placement process through advertising, interview to placement (including full compliance checking responsibility).

The successful candidate will have experience of maintaining and expanding an engaged client base through building successful relationships ideally within a Higher Education or Recruitment environment. The role requires strong relationship building skills, a diplomatic manner and a desire to help students to gain work experience. An ability to multi-task, manage a stakeholder process and prioritise your workload would be beneficial for this role.

The post is open to full-time or part-time applications. The contract will be offered on a permanent basis with a starting salary in the range £32,956 - £38,709 per annum (pro rata if applicable) inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
