About the Role
Applications are invited for the post of Digital Communications Assistant within the Blizard Institute. Working closely with the Digital Communications and Marketing Manager, the post holder will assist with maintaining the Institute's web presence and support in the delivery of the Institute’s internal and external communications strategy. The main focus of this role is to perform administrative tasks related to maintaining and updating the Institute webpages, social media channels, internal communications such as the newsletter and marketing communications, and other online channels where necessary.
Candidates will be required to have an understanding of website structures, excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail. An ability to work flexibly and excellent IT skills are essential. Candidates should also be able to manage their time and prioritise their work effectively. To apply for this post, candidates should be educated to A’level standard or have similar relevant experience.
About the Institute
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is the largest of seven Institutes within Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. The Institute comprises approximately 400 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a part time (14 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 12 months with an expected start date of August 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £27,742 - £34,220 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
