About the Role

The School of Geography is seeking to appoint a Laboratories and Facilities Manager. The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of all research and teaching activities requiring laboratory and field work support. They will lead and manage a small technical team to run our laboratory facilities, manage field equipment and support field-based research. The post holder will also be the named Health and Safety Advisor for the School with responsibility for all aspects of health and safety implementation, delivery, and management.

About You

You will also have experience of the operational running of laboratories and an understanding of all required statutory testing for equipment and facilities. You will have knowledge and experience of supporting research and teaching in the earth and environmental sciences and will have a proven track record of managing technical staff.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an expected start date of September 2021. The salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £47,325 - £52,883 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
