The e-Learning Unit (ELU) is looking to recruit an e-Learning Services Manager to join a diverse and talented team.
Situated within IT Services, the ELU provides strategic oversight of e-learning at Queen Mary University of London and works to promote, support, and develop technology-enhanced learning across the institution. It is responsible for institution-wide learning applications such as the online learning environment QMplus (based on Moodle and Mahara), Q-Review lecture capture (based on Echo360), Kaltura for media streaming, and Blackboard Collaborate and Teams for online teaching.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide ownership of Queen Mary University of London’s suite of digital learning applications to ensure they consistently meet the needs of the institution in delivering an excellent student and staff experience. This involves making strategic decisions on the direction of our technologies with the support of the ELU’s technology experts; engaging with staff and students across the institution to understand activity; developing close working relationships with other IT Services teams who provide technical support for our platforms; overseeing projects to improve e-learning services; and running and acting on evaluative exercises.
As a member of the E-Learning Unit’s management team, you will be instrumental in shaping the digital learning environment at Queen Mary University of London and will line manage three expert learning technologists. You will have an undergraduate honours degree or equivalent, an excellent understanding of the digital learning landscape, and experience managing institution-wide services in a complex organisation. You will have a rare combination of educational expertise, the ability to communicate with stakeholders in a confident and inspiring manner, excellent organisation, and problem-solving skills.

Starting salary will be in the range £48,035 - £53,625 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
