About the Role
A Research Technician is required to work at the Centre for Neuroscience, Surgery and Trauma, part of the Blizard Institute. The post-holder will be involved in all aspects of the in vitro and clinical trials carried out by the Multiple Sclerosis group. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and optimizing standard operating procedures for collection, processing and storage of biological samples.
Applicants will have a minimum of 2 A-Levels in relevant subjects or equivalent vocational qualifications. They will have previous experience of standard laboratory techniques, and preferably experience in biochemical assays use and development.

The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service. The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus, London. It is a part-time appointment,17.5 hrs/per week, fixed term appointment for 12 months, with an expected to start as soon as possible. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £27,742- £ 34,220 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
