The School of Geography is looking to recruit a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to support research work on the Pathways to Ancient Britain project.  The role involves providing research support to project co-investigator Professor Simon Lewis involving a range of data processing and analysis tasks. You will be part of a project team that also includes researchers from the British Museum and Natural History Museum.

You will have a PhD in a relevant area of geography, archaeology, or a related subject. Candidates are also expected to have experience of the British Lower and Middle Palaeolithic, identification and analysis of Palaeolithic artefact collections and working on a research project in a team environment.

The post is part-time (21 hours per week - 0.6FTE), fixed term appointment for 14 months, with an expected start date of as soon as possible after 01 October 2017. Starting salary will be £19,773 per annum (pro-rata to £32,956 per annum), inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include annual leave allowance, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

The closing date for applications is 22th September. Interviews are expected to be held shortly thereafter.

Please note that it will not be possible for QMUL to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for successful candidates as the pro-rata salary will not meet the minimum threshold set by UK Visas and Immigration.
