About the Role

A position is available for a Research Associate to work with the prestigious Genes & Health research programme, as part of a major new MRC-funded research grant on multimorbidity, the Lifespan Multimorbidity Research Collaborative (LINC). The successful candidate will work with a large multi-site international consortium, comprising Genes & Health, ALSPAC, Born In Bradford, UK Biobank and iPSYCH cohorts.

The post will involve analysis of already collected longitudinal data on multimorbidity across the lifespan, focusing on depression, anxiety and cardiometabolic disorders. The postholder will lead health data analysis within Genes & Health for the LINC programme, and will also be an integral part of building cross-cohort analyses across health, genetic and social data.

About You

You will bring expertise from a PhD (or equivalent experience) in epidemiology, data science, computer science or statistics. You will have experience of health research and analysis of large datasets. You will be highly motivated, and your interests, skills and ability to work collaboratively will deliver high quality, impactful research. You will have excellent opportunities for your own personal and professional development.

The post will be based in a stimulating, interdisciplinary academic environment at the Wolfson Institute for Population Health. You will be part of the Genes & Health research team which has a cross-institute, strategic presence at QMUL.

The post is based at the Wolfson Institute for Population Health, Whitechapel Campus, QMUL. It is a full time, fixed term appointment until 30 November 2025, with an expected start date of 1st December 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 5, point 31 (£38,655 per annum), inclusive of London Allowance.
