About the Role

The role is focused on delivering advanced digital learning practices for the Faculty of Humanities and social sciences, building on current practice and developing systems in order to enable the 2030 strategy. The role holder will line manage a small team of Digital learning advisors to ensure strategic oversight for the Faculty digital learning provision.


About You

The successful candidate will have a professional or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline as well as an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. They will have experience managing a team of professional specialists, highly developed knowledge of e-learning tools and services in higher education.


About the School/Department/Institute/Project

Situated within IT Services, the E-Learning Unit (ELU) provides strategic oversight of e-learning at QMUL and works to promote, support and develop technology-enhanced learning across the institution.  It is responsible for institution-wide e-learning applications such as the online learning environment QMplus (based on Moodle and Mahara), Q-Review lecture capture (based on Echo360), Turnitin for plagiarism detection and Kaltura for media streaming. Focussed on delivery in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The Faculty (HSS) offers top quality teaching by internationally recognised experts and comprises of eight schools.

The post is based at the Mile Ed Campus in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment/ with an expected start date of September 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £47,325 - £52,833 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
