About the Role

We seek to appoint a motivated, dynamic doctor interested in HIV, sexual health, infectious diseases and health equity to the post of clinical research fellow (CRF) based within the HIV and sexual health service at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful applicant will learn to deliver clinical research trials as a sub-investigator and develop their clinical research skills in a supported academic environment. The role is positioned within the Sexual health, HIV All East Research (SHARE) grouping and is funded by Barts Charity.

About You

The successful candidate will have a GMC registration with certification to work in the UK and have completed foundation training (or equivalent). Evidence of ongoing professional development; and advanced clinical knowledge and clinical skills. Further information can be seen in the job description.

The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service. The Institute is organised into five separate Centres, which though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.

The post is based at Whitechapel, at the Royal London Hospital/ Blizard institute. It is a full time (35hrs/week), fixed-term appointment for up to 3 years, with an expected start date of August - September 2021. The salary will be £41,763 per annum inclusive of London Allowance (spinal point 5 on pre-2009 clinical academic pay scale) ST3-8 equivalent, depending on previous experience. Applicants who hold a current NHS training post under the 2016 terms and conditions will be paid on the relevant pay scale.
