About the Role
Applications are sought for a Chemistry Teaching Technician (CTT) to provide comprehensive technical support for practical teaching in the Department of Chemistry. You will assist in the preparation, setting-up and day-to-day running of practical classes in the field of Chemistry for students on our undergraduate degree programs.
You will have relevant experience of laboratory-based teaching in higher or further education with the ability to provide excellent technical support. You will be pro-active in maintaining a safe working environment but have a flexible approach, able to adjust working practices and protocols as circumstances dictate.
About the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences
We are a large but friendly School of 96 academic staff, 35 administrative staff and 26 technicians (teaching and research) offering degrees in the areas of Chemical, Biochemical, Biological, Biomedical and Psychological Science to over 2000 students. Within the School, the Department of Chemistry offers stimulating RSC accredited BSc and MSci degrees to 80-90 students in each year with a strong emphasis on practical laboratory skills training.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time permanent appointment, with an expected start date of September 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £27,742 - £34,220 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
