Applications are invited for the role of Senior Lecturer in Genetics. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with an established track record of research and teaching in a field of Genetics, Genomics or Molecular Biology. We are especially interested in candidates who work on novel model systems, and whose research focuses on understanding aspects of ecology, evolution or development.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biological Sciences and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience. As a Senior Lecturer, you will be expected to have an excellent research profile and record of independent research, as evidenced by, for example, successful PhD supervision, substantial external research funding, and/or a sustained publication record of well-cited papers. All candidates should have a strong interest in pursuing excellence in teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
The post-holder will be based in the Department of Biology, part of the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences. The Department has core strengths in Genomics and Ecology, and the wider School is a large and expanding academic unit that provides a supportive, friendly and collaborative environment.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of August 2021 or earlier. The starting salary will be in Grade 7, in the range of £55,840 - £62,415 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
