About the Role

This post will report to the Queen Mary (QM) Venues Events Manager and but sits across the QM Venues and QM Food & Hospitality Team, as the predominant communication line is with the QM Hospitality manager and assistant. The main responsibilities include finalising details for hospitality that has been booked on the online system, taking details from new enquiries over the phone or email (predominantly internal within the University but additionally from external partners, eg NHS trusts and services), preparing event sheets, co-ordinating with internal service teams and ensuring that all hospitality event requirements are delivered. The purpose of the role is to act as a co-ordination link encompassing the QM Food kitchen and operations team and the end client, helping to deliver all aspects of the hospitality booking.


About You

The successful candidate will have excellent operational knowledge of running a wide range of events from to incorporate small daytime meetings to larger conferences. Knowledge of weddings and theatre events will be beneficial as the postholder will be expected to develop their skills within the wider event remit within QM Venues. Ideally you will have experience of working across multiple venues and sites. You need to have exceptional levels of customer service as this role involves dealing with both internal and external clients, delivering the highest standard of event management at all times. You will be a driven and proactive individual who is details orientated, polite, helpful and professional even when working under pressure. Experience within the HE sector would be advantageous but not essential.


The post is full time (35 hours per week) and permanent. Starting salary will be £28,208 inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
